TİKA-Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agencyinaugurated a“Reverse Osmosis Plant Water Filtration Facility” established in Karachi and interior Sindh on 9th November 2019 in Orangi Town. The project was jointly inaugurated by Advisor to Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. KamilKolabaş, TİKA Karachi Coordinator Mr. Ibrahim Katırcı, and Cheif Executive of AlkhidmatKarachi SaleemAzhar.

Advisor to Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Kamil Kolabaş expressed his thoughts and said that clean and safe drinking water is the essential need of human life and TİKA aims to help Pakistan in widespread access to it for the citizens of Pakistan through this project. TİKA Karachi Coordinator Mr. Ibrahim Katırcı told the press that TİKA wants to help Pakistanis in fight water-borne diseases through the installation of RO water filtration plants. Chief Executive of Al-Khidmat Karachi Mr. Saleem Azhar thanked the Turkish government and TİKA for this effective project which will benefit thousands of people.

TİKA has established 4 such facilities in Orangi Town & FB Area in Karachi and Millatabad & Pretabad in Hyderabad City. Each plant of 3KW power has a capacity to filter 2000 liter/hour. The number of beneficiaries is expected to be as high as 1 million people. Previously, TİKA established 3 such facilities in the area of Landhi & Bufferzone in Karachi and Mithi, Tharparkar. In Mithi, 20 solar powered water wells are also constructed by TİKA
